Architectural Salvage: Desk

A favorite space in the house is my workspace in the living room. I found this desk around four years ago. The desktop is actually part of a French Door. It is topped by a piece of glass.

I love this desk because I'm able to display some of the junk I've accumulated over the years, like stamps, postcards, and pins / buttons.

One of the items shown here is a button of the Philadelphia Phillies "Phillis." Philadelphia Phil and Phillis were short lived mascots of the Philadelphia Phillies who made their debut in 1971, the same year the Phillies opened Veterans Stadium. I still remember when I got the button. I attended my very first MLB game on May 25, 1974. I was almost twelve, and I went with my dad and brothers. It was a double-header against the Expos.

I love using the desk as a display case.
