Booklet: Make it with Towels

Hi readers!  It's rainy and dreary today, but my mood is sunny and bright!

Today's subject is TOWELS.  Are you familiar with those cute "Boo Boo Bunnies" that are made from wash cloths.  Have you ever made them or any other handicraft from towels?

Here is a booklet I recently found at an estate sale.  It dates from about the late 60's or the early 70's, and was published by Cannon Mills.  Make it with Towels (and make it with Cannon)  has ten pages of "hobby craft" ideas.   Described as "merry terry novelties,"  instructions are given to make toys, novelties, home decor and casual wear using towels and wash cloths.  It states that "they require neither sewing skills nor experience."   My kind of project, for sure!

In recent years we have become accustomed to hearing and reading about 'going green.'  I believe a number of us are doing our part to help keep the planet green by reducing, reusing and recycling.  It is interesting to note that Cannon was thinking along those line, even back then:
"...these novelties, in themselves amusing, can be opened up later by snipping stitches, leaving useable new towels or wash cloths for the bath. Except as indicated there is no cutting of the terry!"
