Greeting Card: Hello There!

HELLO there!

This vintage birthday card (from the 1950's, I'm guessing) was made by Hallmark Cards. It looks like "Little Miss Hello-There" is enjoying time on the telephone. Is she talking with her best friend? Or could it be a boy? Ooh, la la!

Here's a "Happy Birthday Hello"
To a girl who's very nice to know!

With this card, I am reminded of our not-so-distant past. A time when all of us used landline phones for everyday communication. A time before call waiting, voicemail and speakerphones. We'd wander as far as the telephone cord would allow us, and we'd sit or stand near the phone during the entire conversation. Ahhh, the good old days!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this birthday greeting. Don't you just love the girl's bob hairstyle, headband and peter pan collar? How about the blue rotary dial desk phone?
